Transport & Distribution Coordinator

Role Overview

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the efficient delivery and collection of goods throughout Ireland. This includes managing company-owned fleet operations and subcontracted transport providers, ensuring services are executed to the highest standards and in line with customer expectations, service levels, and cost targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients using the company’s transport and distribution services.
• Understand customer requirements and ensure the consistent delivery of first-class service.
• Plan and coordinate routes, allocate resources, and liaise with drivers and subcontractors.
• Track and trace shipments to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
• Operate the company’s IT systems and maintain accurate operational records.
• Produce all relevant transport documentation (delivery/collection notes, loading lists, etc.).
• Maintain all records associated with the transport operation.
• Follow and manage daily/weekly/monthly task lists.
• Accurately generate sales invoices and process associated costs (accruals, purchase invoices).
• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and company standards.
• Promote and maintain a safe working environment in line with OHAS policies.
• Provide cover for colleagues during holidays or absences.
• Perform other duties as required by management.

Essential:

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years in a similar role within a logistics or transport environment.

Desirable:

• Transport Management CPC.
• Dangerous Goods Training.
