Assistant Branch Manager - Builders Providers (Plumbing & Building Supplies)

• Support the Branch Manager in the day-to-day running of the branch.
• Lead and motivate the counter sales, warehouse and yard teams.
• Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained at all times.
• Assist in achieving branch sales and profitability targets.
• Provide technical advice and product recommendations to customers.
• Manage customer quotations and key trade accounts.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with purchasing to maintain product availability.
• Assist with staff scheduling, training and performance management.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are adhered to throughout the branch.
• Deputise for the Branch Manager during periods of absence.

• Previous experience in a senior counter sales, supervisory or assistant management role within a builders providers, plumbing merchants or hardware retailer.

The successful candidatewill also demonstrate:

• Excellent knowledge of plumbing products and general building materials.
• Strong commercial awareness and customer focus.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Good IT skills with experience using merchanting or EPOS systems.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
