Production Supervisor/Production Co-Ordinator

We are currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor / Production Co-Ordinator for a client of ours based in Cavan.

This is an exciting role for someone that is between a supervisor level and manager that has at least 5 years’ experience working in a very busy highly manufacturing environment.

You will be responsible for coordinating production activities within your production unit to ensure maximum efficiency and output. You will lead and influence the members of your team in order to deliver on key performance metrics.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Production planning and scheduling to meet customer demand and insure maximum efficiency from product stock in a fast paced JIT environment.
  • Manage the day to day production and factory operations focusing on yields, efficiencies, and best manufacturing practices
  • Oversee daily factory production of varying product portfolio ensuring that handover from shift to shift is carried out in an efficient manner especially in relation to evening loading and shipping requirements
  • Responsible for achieving company objectives related to safety, quality, cost, on time delivery, customer satisfaction and productivity. in accordance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Management System.
  • Ensure all plant equipment is run to its full potential and that downtime is recorded accurately and is minimized
  • Manage and continuously improve policies, procedures, programs, and operational activities as per ISO system.
  • Identify and implement process improvements resulting in better yields, efficiency and cost savings while maintaining product quality.
  • Introduce and develop lean Six sigma principles and standards
  • Have a continuous and preventive improvement mindset
  • Maintain ERP system and stock levels
  • Improve standard operation procedures and insure a systematic approach to all operational tasks
  • Participate in internal/ external audits and ensure Quality & Health and Safety standards are adhered to at all times
  • Achieve business KPI’s in your area
  • Work Closely with customer service team to insure optimized logistical planning and execution to meet customer needs balanced with best use of resources available and cost effectiveness.
  • Participate in meetings pertaining to order status, forecast or customer status reviews.
  • Ability to manage key internal and external relationships
  • Project participation as required.
  • Motivate, train and direct employees.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Production Management role within fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong Planning, Organisational & People skills to be able control/monitor sales needs and production and meet KPI’s.
  • Positive “Can Do” attitude,
  • Excellent communications and organisational skills
  • Demonstrate a flexible leadership style, appropriate for the given situation
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction,
  • Team player willing to work cross functionally and maintains a good and pleasant working atmosphere in the team
  • Ability to multi task and adhere to deadlines,
  • Innovative, Flexible and enthusiastic.
  • Good knowledge of the production process, scheduling concepts, product knowledge,
  • Good numerical skills and excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  • Demonstrate a flexible leadership style, appropriate for the given situation
  • Must have strong reporting systems experience & PC based skills
  • Must be energetic and open to a constantly changing manufacturing and technological environment
  • Strong Lean / process improvement experience essential
  • Ability to manage key internal and external relationships
