Role Overview:

As a Pre-Construction Manager, you will be in charge of all pre-construction activities, ensuring a seamless transition from planning and design to site operations. Your role will involve coordinating with various departments and stakeholders to guarantee projects are set up for success.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Coordination:

  • Work as part of the management team to address issues with a holistic company perspective.
  • Attend management meetings, prepare reports, and present findings to the board and executive leadership team.
  • Manage resources efficiently to follow best practices, control costs, and maximize revenue and profitability.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, influencers, and decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to align with the technical design, planning, procurement, and operations departments.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks early and communicate them to directors and senior management.
  • Manage resource requirements by utilizing internal teams and external consultants to meet project needs.

Project Oversight:

  • Oversee multiple projects at various stages of completion, mentoring team members to promote continuous improvement.
  • Lead the analysis and de-risking of tender packages, identifying opportunities, risks, and costs.

Design & Execution:

  • Ensure design information is produced with commercial, contractual, and technical awareness.
  • Seek value and explore options/alternatives throughout the design stages.


Educational Background:

  • A BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering, or Building Management, or a HNC/HND/Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Architectural Technology.


  • Minimum of 5 years managing elements of construction projects.


  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate priorities and align varying viewpoints.
  • Proficiency in managing relationships with diverse stakeholders and clients.
  • Capable of prioritizing and executing tasks in high-pressure environments.

  • Accountable for delivering high-quality results on time.
