Our Client

Our client is a leading organisation in the transport industry, known for its commitment to excellence and innovation. They are currently seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team and contribute to the company's ongoing success.

Roles & Responsibilities

Position Overview: The Financial Accountant will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing all aspects of financial operations within the company. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in budgeting, cashflow management, P&L reporting, business processes, and overall accounting. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting: Develop, manage, and monitor the annual budget. Provide accurate forecasting and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Cashflow Management: Oversee the company’s cashflow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs. Implement effective cashflow strategies and manage relationships with financial institutions.
  • P&L Reporting: Prepare and analyse profit and loss statements. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Business Processes: Evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to ensure efficiency and compliance with industry standards. Implement best practices and internal controls.
  • Overall Accounting: Manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and cost accounting. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with relevant regulations and company policies

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Financial Accountant, preferably within the transport industry.
  • Previous experience as a financial accountant in the Irish market is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, cashflow management, and P&L reporting.
  • Excellent understanding of business processes and overall accounting practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Ireland in a similar role.
